Mason Farms Country Market - Erie, PA

Mason Farms Country Market has multiple locations in Erie. Mason Farms began as a little strawberry cart in front of a family of farmer's home. Two brothers set out on a mission to get money to buy a pony.  The two boys were fourth-generation farmers and began selling strawberries outside of their home. It only took the brothers three days to sell enough strawberries to purchase the pony. Due to their success, the family set up a roadside stand in Lake City to sell more produce. The Lake City location was struggling to attract Erie residents so they began selling the produce at farmers markets in the city. Eventually, the family decided to take a more permanent route and they opened up a store on Peninsula Drive.

Their current Peninsula Drive location offers a wide variety of produce, candles, plants, baked goods, decor, and more. They have countless scents from Our Own Candle Company available in candle and wax melt form. They also sell a wide range of breads and cookies- including zucchini, banana nut, cranberry orange, and apple cider bread. Some of the cookies available include sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and pumpkin. They also sell a variety of Amish Country Popcorn. Another good that they have a wide range of would be jellies, jams, and honey.

During the month of October, the same location does an event called Pumpkintown. During the Pumpkintown event, their garden center is converted into a fall wonderland full of mums, gourds, cornstalks, and pumpkins. It also features a temporary petting zoo, corn maze, concession stand, and bouncy castles. At the concession stand, they sell apple cider, caramel apples, popcorn, seasonal donuts, and other food items. You're able to book class trips and birthday parties during the Pumpkintown event. They also offer special pricing to girl and boy scout groups between the hours of  four and eight.

The farm location in Lake City offers the option to pick your own produce. It is the best location to visit for large quantities needed for canning and preserves. Some of the produce that you are able to pick yourself would be concord grapes, tomatoes, beets, yellow and green beans, and red raspberries. Mason Farms also grows and sell a variety of annual flowers. Their garden center also has perennials, tropical plants, houseplants, and more available. Their farm stand and satellite locations do close seasonally, so it is important to check before visiting.
